Crazy Busy Stopped!

My work schedule is crazy busy, running all over the state installing new hardware so I haven't had much time for anything but driving!  Thank goodness for weekends, I got to knit and read AND sleep! LOL
My projects for the weekend, finished up one of the Hermione socks in KBC Raspberry Mojito!  Love that yarn!

Also started a "leftover" sock yarn pillow cover made in Granny Squares!  Loving how it is working up so far, used the Attic 24 summer garden granny square pattern and construction for the top and following the pillow pattern from colour in a simple life.

Emma Fassio

One of my favorite knitters to follow is Emma Fassio, I so love her designs.  This Celebrating Azzu's shawl is just one of the many reasons; it is so versatile to wear as a shawl, a scarf, a cowl, bet it would look great as a head wrap as well!  Lucky for all of us, it's a freebie pattern as well!

Yiippy Skippy Zippy!

I absolutely love this Zippy wallet from Noodlehead!  I have found that these little wallets are the perfect size for most summer purses and clutches and they make great gifts, love customizing for my friends!  Tutorial at Noodlehead (love that blog name!)

Granny Graduated!?!?!?

Absolutely love this Graduated Granny blanket from colour in a simple life blog!  I'm thinking it could be an awesome way to use up leftover sock yarn for sure!  Just keep adding in  yarn until it is done.  Check out the pattern at colour in a simple life.

Traveler Mission Accomplished!

Ha, I did it, finished my addition to all 3 pair of traveling socks!  WOOT WOOT!  They will be on their way to the next knitter on Monday!

I finished up my section of QuilterMary's socks!  Pair 2 is on the needles now!  Wonder if I can get all 3 pair done this weekend and back on their wayward path!

Fabric Stalking!

There are just some fabrics that I absolutely fall head over heels in love with.  Mollie Makes post for Fabric Friday has just a few of them!  Aren't these City Breaks just yummy!

Then you have to take a look at Pat Sloan's Guilty as Charged post,,,,yup, I'm guilty too.  How scrumptious is this Bella line, I could see myself forgetting anything else and just playing with Bella!

Traveling Socks!

I've got a pile of travelers that landed on more door step this week!  I have QuilterMary's, SapphireRuby's, and AbbieKnots socks ready to add and move on!  Here they are all lined up and resting while I work some magic and move them on to the next knitter!  Working QuilterMary's right now with the KBC Serene leftover from the Cardioid Shawl and a feather and fan patterning!  Love it.

Cardioid!

I am hoping by the time of this post that the Cardioid Shawl I am test knitting for Knitters Brewing Company is in the process of being blocked but as of right now I have 6 points left to bind off on the Cardioid Shawl! I am sooooooooo loving this pattern, it knits up quickly (I know right!, it is one of those that look harder than it is) and you don’t get bored with the knitting. My favorite part (besides all of it tee hee) is the border, it’s a fun, fun border to knit and I don’t want it to end! I just want to keep making heart pointies. Here it is with a couple of the points flattened out. Can’t wait to get it blocked. It took me approximately 10 days of work/knitting/weekend. It’s definitely a fast knit.

You know you're a fan when.....

you have yarn hand dyed with your teams colors!  Yes, yes I did.  I had Wendy at Knitters Brewing Company custom dye two skeins of yarn for me in my beloved Detroit Tigers colors!  Now how absolutely kewlio is this yarn!  I so can't wait to get my hands on it and make me a pair of tiger socks!  WOOT WOOT!

A Granny Square for me!

Love the Bohemian vibe this cardigan has.  It's professional enough for career wear with just enough attitude to say "I'm still me!".  Love it and how can you go wrong with a granny square anything, really! LOL  Braque pattern at Berroco patterns.

Serene!

Knitters Brewing Company introduced their new line of yarn this past week, Serene, and it is amazingly beautiful and absolutely wonderful to work with.

I'm test knitting a shawl, Cardioid, for Wendy in the Salt Water Taffy (teal) color and it is amazingly even more beautiful worked up than it is just wound.  I'm starting the border of the shawl today so should have more complete pictures soon.

Shout out to knitters ~ doggie blankies!

A shelter in London needs doggie blankets for their fur babies that are brought in and need some TLC.  I'm thinking we could do the same here in the States as well.  All our shelters need all they help and provisions possible.  Here's the article in Mollie Makes as well, there is a link to the Paws patchwork blankie.

Another Kindle Cover!

Whipstitch has an awesome Kindle cover tutorial at their blog!  I love this one so much because it has a full pocket to slide the Kindle into as well as corner pockets to hold it while you read!  Oh, the fact that it takes one fat quarter of fabric to whip up is pretty awesome too!

Angry Birds!

I don't know about you but I am so addicted to the Angry Birds app on my Droid!  I play it as much as possible and chum big time when I've gone through the game and have to wait for the next installment!  Well, low and behold, crochet angry birds toys to crochet AND the patterns are free!  WOOT WOOT!  Deborah Hutchinson designs.

What the Easter Bunny brought me!

My kind of Easter Eggs for sure!  Aren't they just all scrumptious!  Top picture is KBC Sockaholic Sweet, hey there was a sale so I had to have it!  Bottom pic is the new yarn from KBC, Serene and believe me it holds up to it's name in color and touch!  Yummy stuff!
My Easter weekend has consisted of why,,,,knitting of course.  I am doing a test knit for KBC, a shawl that hasn't been named yet, in the new yarn and I chose the teal colorway named Salt Water Taffy,,,isn't that an awesome name for it!  Here it is being worked up.

And I started a pair of socks, Hermione, in KBC Raspberry Mojito! 

Of course, Easter dinner was involved in between knitting and Tigers baseball! LOL  Cornish Game Hens and Citrus Roasted Veggies.

and of course, Mac n Cheese for the girl!

Fifty Shades of Grey - Review

 This series does not appear to be for the faint of heart, it's got some pretty hot and sexy scenes as well as quite a few disturbing pieces to the puzzle.  With that said, it's a pretty awesome story as well and I'll definitely be reading the entire series.

It has deeply disturbing moments, compelling moments, and is totally addictive.

The complexity of Christian Grey makes you both love him and hate him at the same time, confusing at times where it makes you HAVE to read on! He's a total bad boy with a very dark and disturbing desire toward perversion.

Ana on the other hand is your sweet, innocent, naive college student who falls for and gets all mixed up in the complexity of Christian.

 Yes, it's a love story,,,boy meets girl, falls in love romance,,,with a sick and twisted darkness.  It's erotic, steamy, sexy and scary all wrapped up into one awesome novel!

I really can't wait to see what is to come and how or if they survive it all!

Work Friends!

 I work with 9 guys on our Network Team and we have a blast on a daily basis!  I have a habit of getting McDonald's Happy Meals for lunch when I decide I need a burger and when the toy is pretty kewl! LOL  About a month ago they had the little plush toys and I fell in love with the monkey (purple one), so I named him Minkie and put him on my desk!  The guys have had a blast with him, they play "hide the Minkie" in the office and I have to figure out what they did with him!  Only rule, he has to stay in my "coop" somewhere!  A couple of predicaments for Minkie.

Well, three of the guys went to our off site location for a few days and found Peanut for me, the pooping monkey (brown one here).  I named him after Peanut from Jeff Dunham as that is who he reminds me of.

Minkie ended up with a My Little Pony friend to ride so Glue is in there too.  Don't even ask why her name is Glue! Did I mention the guys I work with can be sickos too! LOL

Quietness!

After a rude awakening on Friday, like March going out like a Lion, I decided a very quiet weekend of knitting and reading were in order!  I walked out for lunch around Noon and after weeks of 50 - 80 degree temps,,,,,this is what I walked out to!

 I watched a lot of news articles this week on the "Fifty Shades" series by E.L. James.  Of course my interest was peeked and of course I had to start the series, Fifty Shades of Grey and yup, it's pretty sexy as well as a good story.

I've also been working on a test knit for a designer friend, socks of course!  Here is sock one complete.
