Fat Sunday Menu!
It is a cold, snowy Sunday in Mid MI,,,,another 5 inches of snow overnight so I'm thinking a slow cooker Chicken and Biscuits (Rachel Ray) is in order and for a side and dessert is my creamy fruit salad that everyone loves. Yup, that's the ticket!
And here is the recipe for Margi's Creamy Fruit Salad:
Margi’s Creamy Fruit Salad
any fresh fruit that is in season - I usually use strawberries, grapes, bananas, kiwi, apples but anything is a go (fresh MI blueberries and blackberries are always a bonus) - Mango has become a must since being in Hawaii.
1 can of pineapple nuggets
1 small container sour cream
1 pkg cream cheese (softened)
1/3 cup sugar
vanilla to taste
1 large salad bowl.
Mix sour cream, cream cheese, sugar, a little of the pineapple juice (i just dump it in after blending a bit to taste), sugar, vanilla in salad bowl with mixer until smooth. You want it fairly on the thick side but loose enough to cover the fruit.
Cut, dice, chop fruit into the mixture. Mix using a spatula so all fruit is covered.
Put in fridge for an hour or so to chill before serving (unless you’re in my house and they start eating immediately).
I don’t hold fast to the measurements above as I taste along the way and add more as necessary, I like to use lots of vanilla.
The nice thing about the amounts listed is it is more than enough that when the fruit starts to get ate up you just cut up more into it!

Vintage/Old School!
I'm not one to pay for patterns with the wealth of them available for free on the internet, especially at the Ravelry group, but I'm pretty sure I HAVE TO HAVE this book. If for no other reason than its "vintageness"! Love it. Take a look inside! Yummo stuff! How great are the authors name, Stitchy McYarnpants!

Watch the magic!
I have always loved quilt patterns that suggest they are much more complicated thank they are. This Sunkissed Squares quilt from Moda Bake Shop is a perfect example. Lots of pieces but it lets the fabric and color do the work for it! Isn't it just amazing!

Update on Knitters Brewing Mystery KAL!
I have fallen head of heels yet again for a KBC pattern, Family Jewels, so much so that I couldn't wait for releases of the next clue so I started a second pair of socks and wanted to see how the pattern looked in a variegated yarn, purple and blue of course! LOL I was pleasantly surprised to see that the patterning showed up with the v-yarn, of course not as well as a solid but still nicely! On the v-yarn pair I found a pair of circle beads that were about the same height as the heart beads in the kit. I'm very happy with how both are turning out, now onto the second sock for each pair!
And check out the new colors at KBC,,,,,oh I'm thinking a Thirsty Thursday is right around the corner for me! I love these newbies that HAVE to be a part of my collection! LOL And the names: Foo Foo Drink, Dizzy Blonde, and Jungle Juice! How awesome are those!

Finally....
Was suppose to arrive in the beautiful city of Atlanta, Georgia at 12:30 today but thank you MBS, Mid MI cold weather, broken plane, and de-icing I missed my connection by 5 flippin' minutes. So arrived, safe and sound with a rocky landing, at 1:45 instead.....so there Mother Nature,,,,take that and a bag of chips to! :P So there, there, there!
I do love how everyone is wearing parkas here at 40 degrees and sunshine and I'm peeling thinsulate and denim layers off, sweating the entire time!
So now everyone, keep your fingers crossed I get out of here on Friday to be home in time to be the stand in for "Mother of the Groom" on Saturday! Atlanta is suppose to get rain, sleet, snow tomorrow and Thursday. Please, please, please Mother Nature don't screw with me on this one. I cannot disappoint Nate and Darlah! Thank you very much!

Family Jewels KAL update!
Great progress being made on my set(s) of Family Jewels socks in the Knitters Brewing Company Mystery Sock III KAL (Knit-a-Long)! We're up to clue 4 now and I've got that one just about done on my Dreamsicle pair and ready to move onto the variegated pair sometime this weekend! I so love how this pattern is turning out! Lots of twists and turns to get the amazing pattern and the back of the heel being "gussied" up just makes it all the more amazing!
Here is the top of the sock through the gusset increases:
Here is what the fancy gusset looks like:
And the "gussied" up heel turn!

Disclaimer on Current Read!
I know a lot of you follow the books that I read on my annual listing and of course I love mysteries and vampires, if the two mix together all the better. I currently have Mary Hughes "The Bite of Silence" on the reader and it is an awesome read BUT it is RISQUE, even for me it is RISQUE. So read at your own risk!

Pesto Eggs!
Krissy and I have always loved pesto in our foods but we got an all new to us idea of pesto use in Hawaii, with breakfast! YUMMO, YUMMO, YUMMO! I prefer it on scrambled eggs but it is awesomeness and then some on fried eggs as well especially if you put the eggs on hot buttered english muffins!
